TS Live Raid Error HD4 Failure - How do I reformat HD4?

My TS Live (HS-DHTGL/R5 2.14) had a Raid 5 Error with a failure on HD4. Before ordering a new drive, I want to try to reformat the failed drive to see if I can fix the error. I can't figure out how to perform Drive Check or Drive Format without deleting the Raid Array. How can I reformat the drive and still maintain the Raid Array.

Your help is appreciated.

No, if you want to format the disk then just attach it to a spare SATA connection on your motherbroad and format it in disk management in windows.

You cannot format an individual disk in the Terastation when a raid is created. However if you log onto the interface and restructure the raid array on HDD4 it does attempt to preform a low level format before implementing it into the RAID array.

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Thanks. I'll do the restructure to see if the drive can "repair" itself. I don't have the ability to format a drive as EXT from my windows PC. I do have a complete data backup...I have 2 TS Lives. This failed TS Live is a full backup of my primary TS Live. I just don't want to have to recreate the Raid Array and redo the whole backup of 4TB without trying to fix the single drive failure first.

Thanks for the help.

FYI: you dont need to be able to format the disk into EXT or anyother unix format. If you format it into NTFS in windows then restructure the raid that should be fine.
