I can access the info folder that has been created by default and I an access a folder that I created. I am unable to access the share folder that is created by default. I am using XP and I am able to connect to the drive using the name that I have given it. I have checked using net view \\driveName and I can see all shared folder as I would expect. When trying to access the share folder I get the message '\\driveName\share is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this service to find out if you have access permissions. The network name cannot be found.'

Yet the info folder was created at the same time and is accessed without problems and the net view command shows all folders, including the share folder.

If I try to map a drive to the share folder I get the message 'The network path \\driveName\share could not be found.' I am able to map info and the new folder I have created without any problems.

Any ideas as to what can be done to allow the share folder to be accessed?

In addition to the above, in the Shared Folders section of the admin interface the new folder that I set up does not have a tick box to allow deletion and neither does the info folder, but the share folder that was automatically created does have a tickbox to allow deletion - it also shows as Volume being disk 1, but the info folder and the folder that I created do not show any volume. Adding a new folder does not have any options available in the Volume drop down.

Anyone?

Got the same problem cannot access or semi-access and delete shared folder since upgrade last firmware.

I'd run with debug mode but with not result and resetting settings

Sorry but i cannot format my drive.

Thanks

Played around a bit more and it seems the real problem is that creating any access rules on a folder (new or existing) results in not being able to access that folder.

Yes I have the same problem with a Linkstation Quad.

As soon as apply any access rules I cannot access and folder that I have done this to via the LAN....

Currently it seems you can have web access OR LAN access but not both...huh?

What am I missing? If not can buffalo fix this please...makes it might hard to manage folders you do want to access via the web.

Tks
