Drive Replacement LS-WVL/E

Hello all,

My Buffalo LS-WVL/E has been running with no problems, but I'm running out of space on my 2 1tb drives. I wanted to install new 2 2tb drives. I moved the data to another backup drive and install the new drives. The LS-WVL/E went into Emergency Mode and I am unable to access the web admin or do anything with the Nav2. The device lights are red. I formatted the drives on my computer but It will not find the drives in the device.

Reinstalling the old drives brings it right back to a working state.

Do I need to uninstall the program and reinstall it to start over to add the new drives? What should I do?

Thx for your time.....

You'll want your new drives to be completely blank before you begin.

This model has the ability to install the firmware from the on-board NAND. Read the "Quick Setup Guide for LS-WVL/E" found on this page:

Thx for the reply, both are NOB. I formatted and created a partition. Should I remove the partition before it will reload?

Yes.

By default the install process won't proceed if the drives aren't blank (I think), presumably to protect you from wiping out data by accident.

Wonderful, I will give that a shot. Thx for your time.
