Hello everyone,,
this is my first post and my first time using a NAS so please bear with me.

I have just gone through the procedure of getting the drive up and running. I have a 6T (2x3) drive which Im preparing and testing for various things. I have a couple of questions someone could hopefully help me with.

1. At the moment I have one drive mirroring the other. I would like to setup some folders or partitioned drives so I can allocate a certain amount too/how much is available. I have already setup shared folders which is great but I'd like to see how much space is being used by say the media drive or Work drive on the fly (like when you see an external drive at the bottom). How do I do this?

2. Itunes server has been activated. I setup an iTunes lib directly onto the drive (media folder). And have gone into my own local iTunes and selected the shared server. But for some reason I can see any album art, only the track art which is in the mp3. How do I get the art to show up in iTunes (if possible).

3. My network is made up of just Macs / iPads / iPhones / Epson Printer the drives are default to FAT, I move around large photoshop files, should I re-format these to Mac Journalled?

thanks.

Just wanted to point out that since you are running a mirrored disk setup, you will still need to backup any and all data is on the buffalo nas device.  Mirroring just provides fault tolerance as a fail-safe to keep your data online an active.  It isn't a backup itself.

I forget how to check the file folder size with a mac, I would assume it would be done in the same way with any nas or network folder mapping.  Maybe this helps. https://www.macobserver.com/tips/how-to/check-folder-sizes-bulk/

You could also enable quotas through the buffalo nas console for the various shares.

I don't use any nas with itunes or mac computers, so I don't know how to get those itunes art files loaded.

When I used macs in the past, I always formatted the drives as mac journaled.  Something about large files above 4GB.
