I purchase a 1TB Drivestation external hard drive about 2 months ago. I've used it about every 2 days or so. Earlier today, I used it, playing a video clip that was stored on it. I unplugged it and went off to dinner. When I returned, it would not start.

Specifically, I plug the hard drive into the wall, and the green light comes on. Then, a clicking noise begins after 5 seconds. 5 seconds after that, the hard drive powers down.

Please help me- I really need the data on this hard drive! The serial number is HD-CE1.OTU2

Thanks for any and all help.

It sounds like a bad HDD.  I would contact support for a possible replacement.
