Hello,

I have a Linkstataion Live II ( LS-CH1-OTL-V2 firmware 1.10 )  and managed to set up the FTP option (using port forwarding). I can access the shared folders for which I authorized FTP access. My concern is that this FTP access works without any user authentication from either an iPhone ( using the Safari browser) or a Windows workstation. How can I secure the FTP connection and enforce the use of a userid and password? I could not find anything in the manual provided with the Linkstation Live II).

Thanks.

Dom.

You will have to make new users for each person that will access the unit and then you will have to set access restrictions on the share folders if you want certin users to have read only.  Also if your gonna set access restrictions you can only restrict on the ROOT level not the SUB level.
