Hi,

i have a Linkstation Pro Duo, join to AD works fine, it is also pulling all Users and Groups.

A share has been created and a user group has been assigned.

when accessing the share as a member of this group i am still prompted for username and password. when entering it, it works.

why do i still need to enter user & pw manually altough it is joined into the AD?

what's wrong here, does anyone know how to fix this?

Linkstation Pro Duo (LS-WTGL/R1-V3), firmware 3.09

Active Directory: 2003

Clients: XP

thanks for your help!

Are you connecting to the device using the name \\name of device.  Try using \\ip to map the drive.  If you are using the ip address to access device try to do the smb authentication setup under networking.

Hi,

thanks for your fast reply!

i tried connecting both ways - same result.

i now use the smb authentication with the registration over the "authentication shared folder" - this works fine! so i will continue to use this solution.

still, any idea why the AD Integration is not working as it is programmed to?

thanks for your help!

Klaus
