im backing up from one ls quad to another.  got this error... wat does it mean?

rsync error: received SIGINT, SIGTERM, or SIGHUP (code 20) at rsync.c(541) [sender=3.0.3]
-------- END BACKUP 2009/09/15 20:17:05 array1/nas1/Video -> LS-QLADD-BACKUP@array1/nas1-backup --------

Make sure that the firmware is up to date on both.  I would also initialize them from the web interface

same firmware v1.11

i restarted the backup job.  apparently it will do the backup even on those files that were already copied over.  so is like starting from square 1.  how can i make it continue from where it left off?

It's dependent on the backup job you specified. In your case if you're looking to fully archive your data I would go with an Append backup. Basically this will perform a complete backup and on subsequent backups if the file exists on your destination LS (where the data is going) but not on the source LS (where the data is coming from) then the file won't be deleted. Over time though this will slowly eat up your disk usage so keep an eye on it.

i juz want to make sure the files on my source is backup once a week.  i dun need to keep a backup of anything that is not on the source cos i expect myself to be diligent in keeping the right files in the source side and this backup is to prevent data loss from hdd failure or corruption.  not from my own idiotic mistakes of deleting wanted files.

im doing complete/differential.  from my understanding, it should copy and overwrite changed files.  so those that are also on the backup should not be copied over again unless it is changed.

another thought.  wat if i manually copy all data over, then initiate a weekly differential backup?  will tat work or will it do a complete backup again since the initial movement of files from source to backup is done manually and not through the ls?
