I have a Buffalo 500gb Portable HD and I made a mistake by connecting the USB2 to the Firewire port via an adapter/connector. Of coarse, the portable is no longer recognized by my computer in any way, shape or form. I believe the Portable HD is busted as it wont work on other computers and was wondering if there is any way to fix or find a solution to this. I did'nt think this would cause a problem, I feel like an idiot !!!

Sorry, I forgot to mention I have an Mac OSX 10.5.7 if this helps

thank-you

Be sure to specify the model number of your storage device, when asking questions.

If the unit is in warranty call our Tech Support line a call and we can set you up with an RMA.  Have you tried the unit on a diffrent computer?

stevo

Ok, it should still be under warranty, it's not that old.... What's an RMA?.

Yes I have tried it on another computer to no avail'.......  the light on the unit lights up but no flickering, indicating its not reading and its not recognized on the computer at all?

If you right click on computer and go to manage it will bring you to "computer management" from there click on disk management under storage.  If its not in there then its not gonna work.  An RMA is a Return Merchandise Auth.
