LinkStation Quad -Blue LED light on a constant blink

   i bought a quad with 4 x1.5tb harddisks. formatted them one by one using the Quad. with one harddisk in slot1 only, the unit seems ok, can boot up, share folder, etc. when i have all 4 harddisk in, i boot up only to see the blue led on a constant blink. 1. the 4 harddisk lights are a solid green, meaning it is ok? 2. but the blue led has been on a constant blink for >12 hours. i cant find the unit using the utility nor ping it. is it doing a disk check? or something is wrong? wat can i do or wait a few more days since dats wat i read in the solved section seems to imply? thanks in advance!

after reading the forum, decided to start from fresh.  did a forced firmware update and started off with one harddisk in slot1.  added and formatted one harddisk at a time, and i noticed that im having intermittant problem with slot2.  all 4 harddisk can be detected in any slot except slot2 where it is intermittant.  when all 4 harddisk is put in, slot2 light is off (ie no green light for disk2, blue led solid on, no red or orange light seen).  once a blue moon during power cycle it will come up but it will later disappear from the web gui and appear as "disconnected".

 

so im guessing is slot2 but is it hardware or firmware bug or watever... anyone got similar experience?

 

im gonna bring the entire setup back to the shop tomolo.  another day wasted on a supposedly good product :-(   regretting that i did not get d-link dns-343...  sigh
