I just learned that Netgear has added TiVo HMO support to their ReadyNAS product line in an update to their DLNA server.  See http://www.readynas.com/?p=1428#more-1428 for the details.  I am hoping Buffalo decides to keep up with the Joneses and add the capability to the Linkstation Live.  It would be a nice addtion to pCast or its successors.

Another reason I wish I had bought the Readynas Duo.

I wouldn't go that far.  It wasn't that hard to hack HMO into my LS Live, but having the capability as a standard feature would have been nice.  I hope Buffalo sees fit to do so going forward.  If you want to add the capability to your current NAS, check out pyTivo.  While it won't be able to transcode on the NAS's processor, it will be able to do the other HMO things pretty well.
