I am looking to set up a Terastation (WSH5610) with Hypervisor role. Does Terastation allow this role to be enabled and spin up virtual machines? Thanks!

The WSH5610 is running Windows Storage Server 2016 Standard. WSS Standard allows up to two virtual machines to be run in Hyper-V. On this system this is intended as a temporary measure in the event of a failure of another system. This unit has an Intel Celeron with 8GB of DDR3 RAM. If you want to run Hyper-V long term they will have to be very low requirement VMs.

That's interesting.  What other models could you suggest to host 1 or 2 Hyper-V VMs that would have a bit more horsepower?  Are there any desktop form factor devices that run the Xeon chipset?

Buffalo devices are designed as NAS units, not necessarily as hypervisor platforms. The WSH5610 is actually the most powerful WSS unit available from Buffalo. If you are looking for something specifically to function as a Hyper-V platform I'd suggest looking at an actual server.
