Hi,

I have been trying to get the drive to install on the network. Get half way through the install, and get the setup can not be completed, then it mentions about how to initialize. It mentions about pressing the function button...does this usually protrude from the unit, as mine is flush and does not really "press".

Also when i turn the drive on, the top blue led eventually stays lit, but the bottom one (function button) only lights up for a few seconds while the fan runs full.

i have had the unit for a while, and bought it from amazon, if there is an issue would i still be able to send it back as i have no box etc...?

anyone got any ideas??

First off, if it is still in EM mode (the blue led is still on), turn the unit off, then boot it back up normally.

Instead of going through the setup utility, try downloading the NASNavigator software off of our website (its the only software that actually needs to be "installed"). Run the software when the linkstation is attached to the network to pull the ip address.

If you're using a windows machine, go to start>run> type " \\ipaddress " and right-click on the 'share' folder and hit 'map network drive' then assign it a drive letter. It should now show up under 'my computer'

If you're on a mac,  simply tick 'go' and hit 'connect to server' and type " smb://ipaddress " and hit the share folder. You should then be able to access the unit through finder.

Hi,

Still having problems typed \\192.168.1.70  into run, but et the message that windows can not access \\192.168.1.70 so can not get any further!

Should the bottom blue led be flashing/on? the top led is on, but the bottom one only comes on for about 5-10 secs when booting up?

Cheers

That light should only flash when it is booting up/down.  Are you getting any error lights?  Also make sure that 192.168.1 subnet matches your computer.  Can you access the admin page?  Also please post the exact error message that you are getting.
