Unable to connect to Linkstation after v1.73 Firmware update

I've tried to update my LinkStation to v1.73 firmware. After the LSUpdater transfers the files, the final boot never returns and eventually times out. I can put the unit into Emergency mode and see it through the NAS Navigator2 and I can re launch the LSUpdater and see it when it is in EM Mode. However booting it normally the unit has a steady blue flashing LED, but does not connect and is not visible to NAS Navigator2. Any ideas for diagnosing this further?
