We have 2 Terastation 5400R in failover configuration and we were planning to failover from the primary to the backup. However, we noticed we were one minor firmware version behind (8/16). Checking the notes, I see this gem:

[Firmware Release Notes]
Version 3.44 [2017.2.28]
Bug Fixes
[Failover]
- Fixed a bug where newly-created folders or files saved on the main TeraStation could not be copied to the backup TeraStation and the backup unit did not replace the main unit properly.

Could someone clarify this for me? Does this mean that replication from primary to backup isn't working correctly in general or is this referring to a special circumstance?

EDIT: I'll add that I am currently on firmware version 3.42.

It was a specific issue with replication and failover. In some circumstances folders created after this firmware was applied did not replicate and this caused failover to malfunction.
