TeraStation TS-WVH - Create Partition?

I feel like I am so close, but I seem to be stuck:

I have a TS-WVH6.0.  I have replaced both drives with a pair of 4TB drives and expected I could upgrade the drive to a total of 8 TB (I planned to mirror the drives for 4 TB of usable space).

I have the boot image for the drive on a memory stick, and using the HDD-USB boot switch, I am able to boot to emergency mode. I can see the drive using NAS Navigator, and it is shown to be in emergency mode. I have TS Updater with TS V series 1.24. I have put TSUpdater in Debug mode, it finds my TS-WVH and I am able to select the options to 'Rebuild Partion Table' and 'Force Update'.

I get a pop-up message when attempting to Update the TeraStation which says: "Partition not found. Aborting firmware update."

After seeing the above message, I plugged the drives into a Windows PC and verified that there is no partition on the drive.

Do I need to use a 3rd party partitioning tool to create a partition on the drives before TSUpdater will install the TeraStation software? What type of partition should I create?

Thank you for any assistance or suggestions.

Resolved.  I missed two flags in the TSUpdater.ini file:
[Flags]
VersionCheck = 0
NoFormatting = 0
