Hello, we are using the Buffalo NAS terra devices for back up. We have been using it for quite some time without incident until recently. We were attempting to sign into the unit using the "admin" account and our password. No one changed the password but the device was not accessible, it kept saying invalid credentials or something to that effect.

I was able to salvage the situation since I attempted to log on and it would not let me do so I saw an option that said "Secure Connection" Once I clicked on it, it let me in. After some time I got kicked out and was able to log in using this method. Once I was in I was able to salvage the situation by changing the password to our standard PW on the admin account.

I do not understand why this happened since the password was never changed and why I was able to access by clicking on "secure connection"

Any ideas why this may have happened? Also, is there any way to check logs to see if/when/who may have change the user password?

Thank you. I am not 100% sure of the mode of the device but it looks like the attached link.
