Getting an LS with a new blank HD back on line

The  3T HD on my old LSXL failed a few days ago and I got a new NAS to replace it.  This one is working fine.

I want to use my old LS as a spare, so have installed a brand new 2T HD which I quick formatted in NTFS prior to installing it with the LS-XL board into the case.

When I go into NAS2, the new first unit shows properly but this unit shows as UNKNOWN SERIES and I cannot do anything with it.

I would like to get it back on line as a spare in the easiest way possible.  I have found several suggestions on the net, but they seem to be contradictory and or confusing.

What is the easiest way to get this unit updated/configured and back on line?
