TeraStation Pro II and APC UPS config

   I am trying to get our Terastation Pro II to shutdown when the UPS tells it there is a power failure and then restart when AC power is restored.  I am using an APC Smart UPS 1500 (SUA1500) with the black APC serial sensing cable.  I have been able to get the unit to shutdown when it senses the AC power loss (front panel displays E10 message, but I have not been able to get the unit to restart after AC power is restored. 

 

In the UPS setup screen I have the following option set:

Synchronize with UPS: enabled

UPS Connection Type: APC Style

Shutdown Condition when Power Failure: Shutdown Terastation after 30 seconds

UPS Behavior After TeraStation has Shutdown: (I have tried both options, if I select Alive then the next selection becomes unavailable).

UPS Recovery Function: Enabled

 

Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the latest firmware version (1.33)?

   Yes, the device is at firmware version 1.33.

   Buffalo Tech Support has confirmed that there is a design flaw and the units will NOT power back on.  The power switch has a flaw that will not allow it.

I too would like to know how to configure my Terastation TS-XEL3AC (firmware 1.30) for auto-recovery following a power failure.  The link posted above does NOT work.
