Request time out when trying to connect through WebAccess app

Hi,

I'm trying to set up my LinkStation so I can access my media-library when I'm on the road.

I've setup WebAccess in the control panel of the LS, and everything works when I login through buffalonas.com - also when I do it through the browser of my iPhone og iPad.

But when I try to connect through the WebAccess app, I keep getting the message that "Request timed out". I never get through to the NAS, get the chance to input username/pw or anything.

Anyone been experiencing the same issue, and have a fix - or suggestions to where i might look for one?

The Buffalonas-name is "persiensvej23" - feel free to try and connect to it through your webaccess app and let me know if you get through to entering username and password...

best, Lars

What linkstation do you have and what firmware?
The fact that I'm being asked for a username/password as soon as i use your name on buffalonas.com in a browser would suggest that that you are using an older Linkstation that uses a version of web access not supported on the app.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Ah... I was not aware of that at all.

The info in the Nas Navigator says "LS-XHL series" and firmware 1.24

It's at least 5-6 years old (pulled it out from hide-away recently), so what you're describing seems likely. Where can I read more about the requirements? I found one page from '10 where it said that the app will work with any shipping model (at that time), but I'm unsure exactly when mine's from... maybe a firmware-update will do... :-?

The Linkstation is compatible with the app but the firmware you are using isn't so update to the latest build (1.71)

updating right now - thanks... should have thought of that - I'm used to synology, so I didn't think to seek for firmware-updates other places than in the control-panel...

thanks!
