How long to format 2Tb drive in Linkstation HS

Apologies if this has already been answered, I couldn't find an one.

How long to format 2Tb drive in a Linkstation Live HS-DH500GL? 

I replaced the hard drive with a WD Red 2Tb and started formatting through NasNavigator four days ago. 

NasNavigator still says it is formatting and I should wait.  How long should this take?

Does this sound right or should I stop the format by turning off the Linkstation? Is there a better way to format the drive? 

I am grateful for any help. Thanks
