Cannot access the LS210

I got my LS210 from Amazon yesterday, joyfully plugged it in, hooked it up to the router, and installed the software.  The software found my drive quickly (LS210D317) and tells me its IP is 192.168.74.2.  It correctly identifies the size and MAC address.  All seems good.

However, I cannot actually access the drive. 

When I try to browser it, NAS Navigator 2 says "Could not open the shared folder."

When I try to go to settings, it tries to open http://192.168.74.2/ in the browser, but cannot reach it.  (Connection timed out reported by FireFox.)

When I try to map a shared drive, it fails saying "Create a folder named 'Share' before mapping the drive."

Is there any reason I should not just return this to Amazon today?

Whats the IP of the PC your trying to access it from?

Do they are not on the same IP range, they need to be in order for them to talk to each other. Reset the IP address of the Linkstation using the function button, I'm pretty sure the instructions are in the manual.

It should then get a new IP address from your router in the 192.168.1.X range.

Nice - that worked.  I wonder why the installation didn't configure that to start with?
