Is NFS version 4 supported by TS-XE4.0TL

We have a Terastation TS-XE4.0TL/R5 which we use as a backup device  for our server.  For the last couple years the Terastation was mounted on our server using nfs.  However, because of recent network changes (Terastation and server are now on separate networks with a firewall in between)   we cannot mount the terastation.  We opened up port 2049 for NFS and port 111 for RPC, but they still cannot connect.   Since NFS version 2 and 3 isn't designed to run between networks because of the large amount of ports that need to be opened, we want to run NFS version 4 which should only require port 2049.  But, when we specify nfs version 4 with the mount command we receive the error message:
nfs mount: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx NFS service not available RPC: Program/version mismatch

Does anyone know if this could be from the Terastation not supporting NFS version 4?  I have be unable to find which versions of NFS are supported by the Terastation (TS-XE) in either the user's manual or online.

Thanks,
Paul

Hey,

I think it only runs with NFS 3 since when I try to mount a share (using -v for verbose message) linux tells me it had to choose 3 instead of 4.
e.g.
mount -v -t nfs 192.168.1.44:/mnt/array1/backup /mnt/backup

Thanks for the info, we were able to get it to also run under 3 by adjusting our firewall settings.
