This is a second time I am replacing a hard drive in my LS-QV4.0/R5 device.  This time it is drive 3 that failed. After I replace the drive and power up the NAS, the following happens:

- the power LED flashes RED - 7 short flashes - but I don't see a code E07 in documentation
- drive #3 (new replacement drive) make some clicking sounds and generates a lot of vibration (and noise). If I hold a finger on the drive's mount bracket, the noise disappears.
- drive #4 light is NOT ON at all
- NAS Navigator does not see the NAS
- I cannot log into the NAS through the web interface at all

The replacement drive is the same model. There are no jumpers on it. Firmware is the latest, 1.69.
Is it a bad drive?

E07 means its not detecting any of the disks. Do you have a backup?
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

I am still able to boot the NAS with either old (bad) disk #3 or without it - even though NAS runs in degraded mode, I can see my data. I am making a backup now.

Update - it was a bad drive. I returned it and bought a different model (same size and RPM). RAID is rebuilding now.
