hello.

 

I have a Linkstation Pro Duo LS-WTGL/R1 firmware 3.5.

Running on Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

 

Untill yesterday it worked fine.  I had it on my WRV24G Linksys Router.  I decided to switch to my old plain basic hub.  Thats where my trouble begain.  I'm getting my ip from my cable supplier.  I can see the device in IE and can see it in NASNavigator2.  But i cant map any drives to the shares.  

 

I called Tech support yesterday and they said apply the update to my frimware.  from version 3.5 -> 3.9  everytime it try to install it it says:  

 

"Couldnt confirm a response from teh LS-WTGL530 please check a network address of both PC and LS-WTGL530  Please disable the Firewall fuction if it is working on a PC Updating is aborted." 

 

I even tried applying a reg patch to my vista with no help.

At one point i had issues with the new version verses the version of NASNavator2.  I did a registry clean and reinstalled version 1.9 i think not sure of these vers.

 

edit:  I just did a start \\ and it shows my shares but still says to check my ip address and try again.  same responce if i use the \\"ipaddresss"\share or \\LS-WTGL530\share or just simply \\

 

Btw i just got my drive back from warranty repair a couple of months ago.

It's because you're using a HUB which doesn't have an internal DHCP pool. You're getting an IP from your ISP but that doesn't mean the devices are on the same subnet. Try using the router again.
