Cannot share files on Link Station

I have a LS-CHE15 and use it to store music that is used by a Sono system and a backup of photos. The music is a copy of my I tunes library and photos on my PC, this initial setup all works fine. Also connected to my home network is a smart TV, Xbox, laptop and second PC running Windows 8. The problem I have is that these devices can all see the LS  but either dont see the files at all or if they can see them can't read/play them. Any ideas as to the problem? I do not seem to have any sharing restrictions in the web setup page!
