Terastasion boot problems

Hi guys.  I purchased a refurbished Terastation a few weeks ago with the intent of reselling it.  I had tested the device by powering it up when I got it back to the office but didn't try to connect to it with a PC.  It seemed to boot up just fine.  Well, I sold it last week and the client says when he tries to turn it on, it powers up for a second then shuts off.  Any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it?

   Which model TS is it and where did you purchase it from?

   One of the classic silver boxes, bought it from Buffalo directly from the website, refurbished 0.6TB model.

When the unit boot up, is there any LED indications, sounds? 

Check if the fan behind is spinning.
