I can't believe I can't find any information on this.. I've been looking for awhile I figured it would be a common problem.   The power controller on my external drive is dead it wont power on anymore.  But my 3TB seagate HD that's inside the box is working still.  But I can't get to the data because of the formatting the controller card does.  Win 7 just shows 3 un-formatted partitions.

SO what are my options..

Is there software out there that will let me read the information on the HD and emulate the controller ???

Do I have to Purchase another Drivestation and open it up and put my old HD in it to get my data off ??

Can I just buy the box with the controller card that wont turn on anymore ??

OH and yes my 12v Adapter that came with the drive is working correctly.. somehow the control chip from china just doesn't want to fire up anymore.  I should of known it was going to go soon cause I've had problems with it turning on since I bought the thing a year ago.  It didn't like being unplugged.
