i have a customer with a terastation pro II 2 TB configured as a raid 5.

it will not boot up.

It has some very important data for an x ray machine. Also their business cannot operate without it.

Seems as though the drives are fine as it doesn't even know when oneĀ  is unplugged.

Because of time constraints we ordered the identical unit hoping we could configure the new unit with the old drives.

Has anyone ever did this

I am on hold with tech support now playing the waiting game to ask them, hoping someone will know.

my other option is to recreate the raid in a pc box to grab data.

The joys of dealing with some elses mistakes...

thanks

You can do that, the only issue you should run into is that you will probably have to update FW so that you have the same version on the drives that is on the flash chip.

You could also plug the drives into a Linux machine (or any that can read XFS file systems) and run a raid configuration between the drives.
