Unable to Restrict Access to shared folder

I have a LinkStation Pro Duo (Model # LS.WTGL/R1).  I have firmware version 3.07.

I created a new shared folder on my LinkStation and enabled Access Restrictions.  I allowed only one user (a new user I created, not Admin or guest) access to read/write to it.  When I added the IP address/folder to My Network Places, I connected and could read/write.  I went back and removed access for all users and groups.  However, I'm still able to read/write from this shared folder.  How do I enable protection for this folder?  I want to create 3 shard folders with access to each folder granted only to one person, or user.  However, it looks as if the Restrictions do not function at all. I have also tried deleting the Network Place, and reconnecting, but it reconnects fine, as if anyone can get onto it.  I also tried accessing the shared folder (that currently has no one allowed to use it) from another computer, and it promted me for a user name and password.  I used the created user I mentioned before, and it let me in, even though no one should have access.  I then added a different person to have access (in case the default is if none, enable all), but that didn't work either, I was still able to access the "restricted access" folder.

Thank you for any advise.

I've tried to replicate the issue on a 1.08 firmware along with the new 3.08 firmware.  Wasn't able to find why access restrictions were a problem.

The steps I took to create permissions that worked for a new folder and user.

Create new share folder: no access restrictions

Create new user

Create permissions on new folder and move your newley created user to the far left in the permissions setup.

Give the new firmware a try and the process i used and let us know if ur stilling having issues.

MAybe you can try this.

When you created the 1 user, you were logged in as the admin or your PC's current login user.

Therefore when you try to login to that access-resticted share folder, it will not prompt you for the credentials of that 1 user that you have created and will let you into that Share folder.

You need to log-out from the current user first.

If possible, try to use another PC, search for the Linkstation by IP then login to that share folder. It will prompt you for that user's credentials that you have setup in Linkstation.
