Expanding the LS-Q2.0TL/R5

Hi, I am a new owner of the Buffalo LS-Q2.0TL/R5 (firmware version: 1.05) and I have a question about the possibility of expanding the unit to 4TB. Currently, the 2TB is plenty of storage for me but eventually, I might need to expand it.

It seems to me that the only difference in the LS-Q2.0 and the LS-Q4.0 are the actual drives (500GB vs. 1TB). If that is correct, would I be able to just replace the 500GB driver in my 2.0 with 1TB drives (backing up my data, of course)? For that matter, is there a drive size limitation that the unit has? Would the unit work if I put 4 2TB drives in it?

Thank you for the help!

Can anyone offer any info?

Thanks

Seriously, no one has any info on this? Buffalo support? Are they even on here?

kevin

It is possible, BUT not supported and it does VOID warranty.

They have been tested with up to 1TB drives.

Thank you very much for the info.
