my buffalo external hard disk didn't work

my external hard disk that i have is HDU-PNTU3

my laptop OS is windows 8

i had many important things in that HD..but it cannot be open anymore since my sis use it on laptop which is the OS is windows 7

before all of this happened..when  i connected the cable  with my computer, it show "HDU-PNTU3"

but now, it shows "LOCAL DISK (F:)"

 

can anyone please help me?? i need to use it URGENTLY

The HDD needs to be formatted, you would need to run data recovery software on the HDD before doing this if you don't have a backup. Why don't you keep a backup if the files are so important? Seems a bit foolish!

Are you able to see your files on your sister's computer? Did she format the drive on her computer?

 

If you right-click on the "local drive F:" icon and select Properties, what size does it say your drive is?
