I have a LinkStation LS-WX3.0TL/R1 that was flashing 6 red error lights. I followed the stickies to boot it into emergency mode so I could flash a new update. I'm not concerned with data recovery: I just want it to work.

Right now the drive has a solid blue light and is connected to my Windows 7 Safe Mode w/Networking computer via an Ethernet cord. Whenever I try to run the update, I get one of two errors.

http://i.imgur.com/VNh5T7r.png" border="0" height="131" width="385"> Error I'm getting now.

And another error says it could not find the partition and it's aborting the update.

I'm trying to fix the error. I just want to flash a clean firmware and hope it works.

If anyone can help... thanks so much.

Within the extracted firmware folder open up LSupdater.ini in Wordpad or Notepad.

Modify it as follow:

[Flags]

VersionCheck = 0 (modify this line from 1 to 0)

NoFormatting = 0 (modify this line from 1 to 0)

[SpecialFlags] (add this line)
Debug = 1       (add this line)

Save the modifications and start the LSupdater.exe file. Right click the title of the Updater window and select 'Debug (D)'.
This will bring up the Debug options. Select the following ones:

Ensure all options on the left hand side are selected, on the right hand side select all options including 'Rebuild Partition Table'

Click OK and proceed with the update.

The LED is solid blue, no flickering. The error is the same as the image in the OP. It has not changed.
