The product is less than 6 months old.    I have red flashing lights and the NASNavigator 2 tells me E16 and E14 on Disk 1 and Raid array 1 can not be mounted.    I assume the E14 is a result of E16?

What can I do to sort this out, I am not a computer person, but do understand the basics.   The firmware is 1.37  is this the latest?  How do I upgrade it if its not, can't seem to find such instructions in the PDF.

Will upgrading the firmware help?   or do I have to buy a new disk (2TB) and replace Disk 1 and if I doreplace it, how d I get the RAID to rebuild my data?

I am running macbook pro with Mountain lion OS.

Many thanks

First of all, do you have a backup because it appears your data might be gone.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Most of the data is on other drives, but this was to be my main back up.....    I assume that what you are saying is a my Buffalo raid also needs a back up.

Well since RAID isn't a backup in the first place then of course you should have a backup (second copy).
E16 means it is not detecting one of the HDDs, you probably left it in raid 0 so the entire raid collapsed.
PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Yes, I didn't reset anything....     but if the unit isn't seeing Disk 1, then would it by default not see the RAID array 1 either?  Or is the raid data in the "case" of the unit and not on the drives?   Lets assume that the raid might still be OK, what is the best way for it to see Disk 1.

The red flashing on the case, only does 6 flashes....    so is the box saying ony E16  but the navigator software says E16 and E14?

Many thanks for your help on this.

RAID Array1 is just the name of the RAID, as stated, you probably left at as RAID0 and have had a HDD failure.
