So my previously working fine linkstation, when accessed on nas navigator, is displaying the above!!! So it has put itself into EM.  I have no idea what firmware it is running.

 

Had a few problems a couple of months ago but was rectified by pushing the buttons in a particular sequence, but cant find any details of this now.  

 

Stupidly I do have important info on there so would be great if I can recover the data as well as get it working.  

 

I have a mac but have access to a windows pc.  Am not a technophobe but am equally not an expert so if anyone can point me in the direction of an idiots guide I would be verygrateful.

Download the 1.60 firmware from the download section, unzip it and run the LSUpdater.exe file with your anti virus and firewall software disabled.

Thanks.  Do I need to connect the linkstation to a windows pc to do this please?

No, connect the linkstation to the router. You can download either the Windows firmware or MAC firmware depending on what OS you are using.

Sorry to be such a pain but when I put in my model all I can see is 1.56 firmware. Am I looking in the right place, on the buffalo technology website?
