RAID 1 setup extremely slow for CloudStor Pro (2TB + 2TB)

I recently purchased a Cloudstor Pro which came with 2 TB drive. I copied about 20 GB files on it. I then added addition 2 TB disk and configured as RAID 1. The new disk is the same type as disk 1 - Seagate Barracuda. It has been more than 24 hours since I started the process and I am still seeing the message "Formatting Disk ...." while trying to access using local URL.

At the same time, I am able to see the files as local drive on my laptop. So I am not sure if the process is completed unless the message says otherwise.

Do I just turn off the storage device and restart it?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Pete.

trying accessing the GUI from a different browser. the process is probably finished.

I tried using different laptops and also with different browsers (IE & Firefox). I got the same status.

Finally after 36 hours, I shutdown the Cloudstor Pro and restarted it. It still show the second drive as not ready. So once again I selected the Mirror option and got the same status. Since I started it now, I cannot access the cloudstor within my LAN. So I will wait and see what happens this time. So far 3 hours have elapsed.

Thanks,

Pete.

Not much luck after 18 hours. Contacted Buffalo support. The support engineer told me to select the raid option that will delete data from both disk. I was selecting the option that would only format the new disk previously. Not sure why this would work. But I have started it after painfully backing up everything from my first disk on another laptop.

Interesting thing is that I do not see any amber light flashing. Although I cannot access the device from the URL within local LAN, I can still see it as a mounted drive on my laptop. It has been almost 5 hours now. I have no clue what's going on. I will wait till tomorrow morning and contact Buffalo Support again.

I have also been advised to flash my firmware after this is done.

Not sure if this is just me or this product is acting crazy! There aren't that many options that anyone can screw up the process. It is very straight forward. So what's the hold-up?
