Hello everybody,

I am going to purchase Buffalo Linkstation live 1TB in couple of days. I havnt any experience of NAS drive. I have some queries which i need to be resolved through this platform beforfe purchasing.

1. In my home network there are plenty of devices running through wireless router and i have allowed for example only A,B,C,D,E,F persons to have access through MAC address. The question is i wanna share my Linkstation storage to only A,B,C & D and not to E and F. Is there any specific setting in the Linstation Live to restrict these two.

2. Also another thing that I want that to restrict a particular folder or subfolder to all the persons in the network.

3. Does Buffalo linkstation supports Dropbox ?

Good answers shall be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1. use access restrictions based on a username/password to restrict certain PC's, you cannot restrict access based soley on MAC address.

2. you can restrict access based on top level shares, any sub folder / file will then inherit the permission from the parent share. You cannot set specific sub file / folder restrictions,

3. No

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.
