Hey everyone. Just thought I'd post a problem I'm running into with my new Linkstation and see if anyone else has run into this.

I purchased a LS-X2.0TL about a week ago. I've updated it to the latest firmware I could find, 1.64. restored default settings,  set it to have a static IP address, and turned off any extra services on the device that I'm not using. ie, all of them except smb sharing.

What I've got setup is 2 computers that each night run a bat file that coppies several directories to the linkstation using robocopy. Nothing fancy.

What happens is it will run fine for about a day, but the next day, the linkstation will have stopped responding to any kind of network traffic. It just completely goes offline untill I phisically reboot it by pulling the power plug out.

Anyone have any sugestions?

Is it the same if you test it directly with one of the PCs? Just to eliminate some sort of network issue?

PM me for TFTP / Boot Images / Recovery files  LSRecovery.exe file.

Yep, it becomes completely inaccessable from any pc when trying to access a share via ip address and via the web browser, untill it's rebooted anyways. It won't even respond to ping requests.

Again, you tested this on a direct LAN connection to a PC and left it for a day and it was still doing the same?

Ahh, I see what you're saying. I haven't tried that. I'll give it a shot, but I doubt it's a networking issue. I work as an IT consultant, so I'm pretty savvy when it comes to that kinda stuff.

An additional note. It seems to die at some point during the copy process. These two directories that I'm putting onto it are pretty large with many files and some long path names. It takes robocopy several hours to work it's way through them both.

Well, I did some testing today with it, and I can get it to die pretty consistently now. It seems to only happen when both computers are running their respective bat files at the same time. It's like it overloads the linkstation and it never recovers.
