Linkstation LS-XL not getting AD data

I have a linkstation LS-XL.  When I try to sync with AD, I get an error message from the linkstation saying connectcion has failed, and no users or group are pulled to the linkstation.

 

The time on the NAS matches the time on the server (both are set to sync with same ntp)

The Nas has been added to AD as a computer, and trusted for delegation.

Forward and Reverse lookup zones have been configured and confirmed by NSLookup

 

The NAS connects to the DC - confirmed by NSLookup

It is possible to interoogate LDAP using ldp

A valid binding appears to have occurred - according to the Network Monitor tool.

 

I think the issue is port related as in Network Monitor, there are 3 UDP entries with descriptions of  "UDB:SrcPort =1105, DstPort = Discard(9), Length = 110" (all from SMB to the NAS) folowed by 3 ICMP entries with desriptions of "ICMP:Destination unreachable message, Port Unreachable, 192.168.0.5:9.   All three entries are from SMB to ICMP.

 

Have I missed something related to ICMP?  (The firewall is configured to flag blocks, but hasn't flagged anything.  It is also the Windows Firewall - no other installed)
