After a while, files become Read-Only, except for the last person to save the file

We have a Terastation 5200 (TS5200D0402) wih firmware 2.20-1.06

We have local users USER1 in local groups HDUSERS and GROUPA, and USER2 in groups HDUSERS and GROUPA.

We have folder FOLDER1: no rights have been set for local users. For local groups, ADMIN and GROUPA all have Read/Write access; no other rights have been set.

We have file1.doc in FOLDER1

At first, all is well, and both USER1 and USER2 can read and write to file1.doc without any problem.

But after a few days, suddenly, whichever of the local users last saved the file will become the only one with Read and Write access, while for everyone else the file becomes Read-Only.

Looking at the Security Properties of file1.doc via Windows (7) Explorer, we can see that groups "Everyone" and "ADMIN (Unix Group\ADMIN)" now only have Read access, while one of the users, say, "USER2 (terastation\USER2)" will have both Read and Write access.

This was happening both before and after the firmware upgrade to 2.20

We tried creating a new folder and copying the files over, but the same problem occurs.

We cannot roll out the Terastation fully until this problem is solved...

Thanks, but unfortunately no, the problem still persists- this must be another bug in the Terastation.

My company purchased the Terastation back in June 2012 and it's still not fit to be rolled out to all the users:-(
