I've never had a problem with my NAS being detected by another blu ray player in the house, an LG BD570.  The NAS is working perfectly fine with any computer in the house and is still able to be detected by the LG blu ray player.  I just updated to the latest firmware, ensured that DLNA and enabled and reset the DLNA server.

The blu ray player is connected to the network and there really aren't many options to play with in regards to network settings.  I feel like I've exhausted my possible options from the blu ray player side and don't know what else to try.  I was wondering if there is a known issue with Buffalo NAS drives not being able to be recognized by this particular player, or if anybody else has any ideas.
