HD LBU2 2TB Partition Manager stays: Invalid File System

My HD-LBU2 2TB External HDD is connected to a Windows Vista computer via USB2 connector.

 

When I checked the computer's HDD situation using Paragon Partition Manager 12 (installed today, 15 December 2012), I was surprised to see that the Buffalo HDD was recognised, but also had the statement:  "Invalid file system" shown. The other two existing Western Digital internal HDDs (formatted to NTFS) were fully recognised and data values stated.

 

Further information from the Partition Manager stated that this Drive could not be formatted.

 

However, I tried copying a small set of jpg files to the Buffalo Unit with success. I then sent a large 70 GB data file to the Buffalo Unit, again with success.

 

I understood that the Buffalo HDD was formatted to NTFS, so my questions are:-

 

1.    Why was the HD-LBU2 File System declared as "Invalid" ?

 

2.   If I want to reformat the HD-LBU2 in the future, how do I do it?

 

Can anyone offer an answer to my questions, and have any other members had a similar experience?

Unfortunately, I do not have any information regarding why your Drivestation's filesystem would be seen as "invalid." However, to format your drive in the future, this can easily be done by going to Disk Management. Once the drive is highlighted under Disk Management, if you right-click on the volume, you will then have the option to reformat.
