Got the message that the new firmware was available. Went through the steps - and kept the browser open. Went on for hours with now change (was on the 'Must restart ...' After reading some posts on here, I refreshed my browser, and came up an error... Eventually, I powered down the box. Now, I get double-flashing blue lights - Power and Function - that go on indefinitely. No red lights at all. If I listen closely, I hear (at least what I think is) the disk trying to start up for a split second - then trying again, and again... Like a zip/whir sound. I've read a ton of posts, and it seems that #3FAQ MIGHT be the answer, but not being a 'computer guy' it's all Chinese to me.

What does the group think? Is it the NAS itself? or the Seaagate disk? Or both? How can I tell? Should I contact Buffalo? Any advice/input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also, needles to say, it won't show up on the NASNavigator...

Thanks - I had tried resetting it many times... following comments from the forums. Got an email respons from Buffalo (quick reply, btw), saying to hold the function button for 6 seconds before powering on - that did the trick!!

Thanks!
