Hey Guys,

I want to use my Linkstation (Live) as a Server for my homepage, but I don't know how to browse online correctly to the homepages directory with the index.html inside.

WebAccess through dyndns.org and ftp works fine after configuring the right ports in my router.

but when I try access the Linkstation with a Bowser typing http://myhostname.dyndns.org I only get the chance to login to the web-access settings-tool because I tried open port 80 for my linkstation.

So, hope you can help me,

Thx, RaZ

The Linkstation is a NAS, not a server, so you can't modify the webserver configuration. You would need to modify the firmware of thedevice, which we don't warranty, support, or discuss on these forums.Sorry about that.

The reason you get the administrationinterface by http://myhostname.dyndns.org is because the interface runson TCP port 80. Web Access runs on TCP port 9000. If you forward port9000 to the IP address of the Linkstation, you can get to the WebAccess by http://myhostname.dyndns.org:9000/

To havethe Web Access feature accessable remotely by TCP port 80, you wouldneed to forward WAN or Internet side TCP port 80 to LAN side port 9000on the Linkstation's IP address.

My NAS LS PRO, under network, very plainly says "WEB SERVER" not "WEB NAS", if the system has been setup to be a HTTP server, then the standard port for HTTP is 80 and the WEB admin access port should be able to be moved, I should not need to depend on router capabilities, if it can properly port forward, lots say they can but have difficulty and lots say they can, but can't...

Also under network is "Network Services" where "FTP SERVER" is found, not "FTP NAS" and **bleep** isn't it on the STANDARD port of 21...

HTTP port 80

FTP port 21..

WEB ACCESS port, who cares, make it what ever you want, what is with this rigidity of having it on port 80

If it can be changed, by whatever means,, give us a fix or a program to edit the port number..
