I have an HS-DH1000GL. I searched the forums but could not find anyone with the exact problem or solution. My unit powers up with no info or error lights coming on, only the power light and link/act light. I also noticed the fan does not spin. In the last 2 days I have not been able to access the unit (it was working fine before this) while plugged into my Linksys. In troubleshooting, I disconnected the HS-DH1000GL from the Linksys and plugged it directly into my computer. I disabled my Norton Security Suite firewall in attempting all that follows.

When I go into the NASNavigator (version 1.34) I noticed it now says the workgroup is "unknown" where before it had the name of my network, "office". When I try to do an "I'm here" it asks for the password and then just sits there. I can modify the IP address from Setup. When I do Setup>Browser Management, it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". When I click View Shares in NAS Navigator, it says "Network routing cannot be found. Confirm network cabling and connections." I have confirmed the connections. When I go to Mapping>Map Network Drives to all stations found, it comes back saying "There is no possible Stations to mapping". When I go to Mapping>Map a Network Drive, it says "This TeraStation is already mapped or there isn't a share folder" but in the process of troubleshooting, I disconnected the previously mapped drive (L:).

When I try to map back to it through Computer>Tools>Map Network Drive, and pick a different drive letter and use the IP address of the HS-DH1000GL, it just saying sits there saying "Attempting to connect to \\192.168.1.4\share". If I attempt to use the previous naming convention, \\LSLive1\share, it comes back saying Network Error Windows cannot access \\LSLive1\share.

I downloaded NAS Navigator 2.3.1 and it says "EM Mode".  If I do an "I'm Here" from the NAS Navigator 2.3.1, it comes back with "Failed URL open. Error Code=12029".

I also downloaded the latest firmware and tried to update it but it comes back saying "Couldn't confirm a response from HS-DHGL-EM8C5. please check a network address for both PC and HS-DHGL-EM8C5. Please disable the Firewall function if it is working on PC. Updating is aborted." The ip for my computer is 192.168.1.3 and for the HS-DH1000GL it is 192.168.1.4. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 for both.

Help?

You cannot just disabled norton you have to completely uninstall it so you can complete the firmware update. Follow FAQ 2 of 5 pinned at the top of the storage forum. And again make sure Norton is uninstalled.

Hello remisi,

I have the exact same problem reported by you. Did you resolve it?

Did the AntiVitus uninstall was necessary and resolve your problem? (Jotin tip)

I receive Emergency Mode 923.

After a while I also receive a 5 beep error code (only once) and the error LED shows a short light followed by a long one (red error LED)

Help please...

My latest working files are trapped inside this NAS...

Thanks in advance,

LPitta from Portugal
