sounds familiar, could you link to what you’re talking about?

also, what firmware version are you running?

Storage / Any fix for the date creation issue yet?
« Last post by Rob Hartzell on January 27, 2024, 07:09:11 AM »
I've just discovered a problem with the NAS (LS210D) rewriting creation dates for files which are modified on it -- which, of course, wreaks havoc on synchronization software if you want to keep the NAS folder synchronized with a local one. Looking around, I found some 10+ year old threads in these forums, when there was no solution available. Did Buffalo ever fix the problem?

Storage / Updated Firmware with US version instead of European version on LD420D
« Last post by stavross on January 17, 2024, 07:59:37 AM »
I have manually updated the firmware on my LS420D from version 1.83 to 1.88. Unfortunately I should have used the European firmware, but used the US firmare version by mistake.
Although the linkstation shows up in NAS Navigator, I cannot login to the Linkstation. When I type in the Linkstation ip address, I get the Buffalo Control Panel, with a window that constantly says 'Reading   please wait...'
I have tried to update to the European firmware version, but this gives me the message 'No Linkstation that needs updating found'.
Could you please let me know how I can now install the correct European firmware version.

So if you really really really need to use a sleep timer, I would suggest using the idle drive spin down.  It should have close to the same effect.

@Kane88 > how to use the "idle spin down" on a LS220D.? I don't see a setting just sleep timer.

Storage / Restoring RAID 1 after disk swap in LS420D
« Last post by vcator on January 04, 2024, 08:48:24 AM »
NAS Navigator is showing RAID1 degraded, so I swapped out disk 2 for a new one, and reformated.

Array List shows Array 1 degraded.
- Not enough drives are selected
- Disk 1 is checked and is Normal
- Disc 2 is unchecked, and Normal.    I can't check the box.    Select All doesn't do anything.

How do I get the new Disk 2 added to RAID array ?

If I delete RAID ARRAY (with a view to setting up a new array), would that lose all the data ?

Got the first “test” email to work using the following URL.
https://advanxer.com/2014/01/buffalo-linkstation-email-notification-using-gmail/
I changed the SSL/TLS: from Disable to SSL/TLS.
I changed the SMTP Port No: from 587 to 465.

Guidelines and more / LS210D email notifications not working
« Last post by csimmons32@live.com on December 25, 2023, 12:59:17 PM »
First time setup.
SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 587
Authentication Type: LOGIN (SMTP-AUTH)
SSL/TLS: Disable
Username:-------@gmail.com
Password:***************
Recipient:-------@gmail.com

I click “Ok”.  Popup then says “Setup was successful.  Do you want to send a test email?”  I click “Yes” and get the following error.
“Because of an error, the following process did not complete: Sending test email notification”
I am using an app password that is working for another application.  Does any know the fix for this?
