Its brand new. I plugged it in and the green LED came on. A few seconds later I hear two very quiet clicks and the LED goes out. Please help and thanks in advance for any help.

I would run a check disk on the unit, and see if you can format it.  If not I would swap it out with the store or call Support for an RMA.
