Title: LS-QL: Can't change some settings; always returns to login screen
Post by: Eug on January 22, 2009, 04:01:17 PM

Yesterday I got a new LinkStation Quad 4TB.  It has been updated to firmware 1.04.

It appears that when I try to change certain settings, such as anything on the network page (DHCP, Ethernet frame size, etc), I get taken back to the login screen, and when I log back in and go back to the settings page in question, none of the chnages are there.

Also, if I go to the media server page, I don't even get a chance to change anything.  I see a button that says "restarting media server", and after a few seconds the login screen pops up again.

Anyone have any idea?  I only have a week left to decide whether I'm keeping this thing or returning it to the store.

I would flash the firmware on the unit and set it back to factory defaults from the web interface.  Also please remember that this admin page will time out if not accessed within a time frame.

I put the latest firmware on it.  I can try a factory reset, but given that it's been doing this since being new in box, I can't see that helping.

And unless the timeout is about two seconds, that's not what's happening.
