Title: LS-CHL bricked ? orange light & no network
Post by: mynameisfred on January 21, 2009, 06:03:09 PM

Hello

I have tried to flash my LS-CHL 1To. It seems now to be bricked.

=>when booting : blinking blue light and then .. stuck with orange light.

It's not on the network, neither with 169.254.x.x IP adress , nor other ip range.

I ve tried reseting to factory defaults

- pressing function button while turning on ..  and then 6secs while function light blinking ... Still turning orange at the end.

-kepping function button pressed a long time when turning on , holding it a long time .... still the same.

I don't think there is a tftp pack for this version of Linkstation.

Any ideas ? Can any one help me please ?

Thx

Is the Orange LED Blinking? If it's the case, how many times?

I don't know orange LED, may be it's violet or red?

No it's not blinking , it stays "still".

Yes it's orange, the light at the Top of the Linkstation.

After it's blocked with the orange light , i m even unable to turn off the box with the switch,  I m obliged to put the power off... it will end in corrupted Hard drive ...

Any idea ?

I will put in a request for the tftp boot for this device, we can most likely have it done with in the next few days.

please check the ftp site for updates.

Thanks Paul,

Having no other solution, i scarily disassembled my LS-CHL, formatted root and boot partitions,

I Was then able to Flash with the original Firmware, after it went into emergency Mode. It's now fixed, but i sooner or later will attempt again to install Lenny or Freelink, so any low level tools will be useful !

Thanks for tftp
