Title: Fitting New Drives to Terrastation TS-1.0 TGL/R5
Post by: SImonA on January 30, 2012, 05:13:23 AM

Hi I have the above Terastation. I wish to upgrade the drives from 4x 250Gb to 4x 2TB. I have read that I just need to swap out 1 drive at a time and update the array is this correct of do I need to fir teh 4 new drives and then write some firmware to them ?

thanks Simon

Hi

thanks for the reply,

I also have a Linkstation that I was told would only support 500mb drives, however a nice guy at Buffalo Tech Sup gave me some instructions and it now has a 1TB drive running in it, I thought the limitation was in the firmware that goes on the drive not the chassis ?

I realise this is a very old post, but how did you get the 1tb drive in and working? What did the nice tech tell you? Just throw the tb drive in, and it works?
